Nonsubsampled contourlet transform based tone‐mapping operator to optimize the dynamic range of diatom shells

The diatoms have intricate silica-based cell walls with multi-scale patterns. High dynamic range (HDR) imaging is widely used to examine the three-dimensional structure of for recovering wide contrast and brightness. In order construct a HDR image diatom, multiple images specimen are taken at different exposure settings bright or dark field microscopy. proposed method, decomposition based on nonsubsampled contourlet transform adopted separate structured detailed information image. And then, by processing all layers independently, tone-mapped reconstructed retain details present in light regions. Quantitative qualitative analysis performed assess performance seven existing tone-mapping operators. analysis, study indicates that method enhances diatom frustules extract more details.
